The Judith Neilson Institute and the Local and Independent News Association (LINA) have created a flood impact fund to support local and independent news organisations that have been financially affected by the recent floods.
Grants of up to $2,500 are available to organisations that have suffered financial losses, such as lost revenue from not being able to publish or expenses incurred from flood damage.
To be eligible for the grants, organisations must also be community focused, independently owned, working at a local level and covering public interest issues regularly.
Eligible news organisations can submit their applications through an online portal.
