LINA is pleased to be partnering with the Australian Press Council to ensure hyperlocal and independent newsrooms can access membership.
This allows audiences for these publications to utilise an external process for complaints or concerns if they feel the news journalism published doesn’t meet professional editorial standards.
The Australian Press Council is responsible for promoting high standards of media practice, community access to information of public interest, and freedom of expression through the media. It is also the principal body with responsibility for responding to complaints about Australian newspapers, magazines and associated digital outlets, and digital-only news sites.
Strengthening public interest journalism is key to LINA’s work and this partnership is another way to support newsrooms and communities with high quality news services.
