The Westsider is a monthly community newspaper - a not for profit incorporated as Inner West Community Media Inc - successfully operating under a community partnership funding model. It is a 100% independent free publication which exists to provide a platform for community journalism and general public submissions. Powered by local volunteers and funded by local business and community organisations to advocate for the people, places, stories and events that together form a unique and diverse community. Initially founded to support the unemployed and vulnerable in gaining new skills and social networks, it has since grown to represent the unique spirit of a supportive community in Melbournes West.
